What is the minimum or recommended server configuration to host internet games for best performance?

Web Game Factory products are designed and developed for best performance with unlimited number of users and game rooms.
We recommend the below minimum system configuration for hosting a large scale game site. However, better RAM and CPU capacity
may be preferred as your traffic and usage rates increases.
Also, if you plan to serve internet games on the same machine
with your web server and/or database server, you should monitor and consider your CPU utilization and memory usage accordingly
for best performance.

CPU: Pentium IV 3GHz or equivalent
RAM: 1GB or higher

What do you need to launch a game site?

An internet game site at least should have the below specifications to be ready to install internet games easily:
Domain Name (ex: www.yoursite.com)
Dedicated Server hosting or rental with minimum recommended system configuration
Static IP
High bandwidth
Linux/Suse or Windows operating system
Web Server installed and configured for your web site
J2SE 1.3.1 or higher (J2SE 1.5 recommended), free download from java.sun.com
Database (all databases are supported such as MySQL, MS SQL Server)

How much bandwidth required for hosting internet games?

Although Web Game Factory products are optimized more minimum bandwidth usage, as nature of internet games,
as your game rooms and connected users increase your site traffic increases and requires more bandwidth
We recommend as least 10GB/month bandwidth to host a large scale game site with unlimited game rooms and users. |
